Matt O’Riley Celtic transfer asking price is’set’ as Southampton prepares their offer.
Celtic are reportedly sticking hard on the fee for O’Riley.
Celtic have apparently fixed their asking price for Matt O’Riley, with Southampton preparing to make a move.

Many clubs are interested in the Hoops’ star player from last season, after Atletico Madrid’s £20 million plus add-ons move in January fell through. Several English clubs are thought to be interested, including Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham, although Saints entered the race following their promotion back to the Premier League.

Russell Martin, a former Scotland international, is their manager. He previously worked with the 23-year-old at MK Dons before his big transfer to Parkhead and is looking forward to a reunion. According to the Times, the south coast side is reportedly preparing to swoop for the player.

According to the source, Celtic are trying to sell the goalscoring midfielder for £30 million. The price is considered to be non-negotiable.
If Southampton meet that price, it will be a record-breaking sell for a Scottish club, surpassing the £25 million the Hoops earned from Al-Ittihad for Jota last year and before from Arsenal for Kieran Tierney.

It is known that such a sum would not be acceptable to the newly promoted Premier League side, which has vast financial resources as a result of their promotion. Last season, O’Riley scored 19 goals and assisted 18 times in all competitions, bringing his total in Celts jerseys to 27 and 34, respectively.
