On his feelings about the game:

I am extremely glad to be fair. We have a totally different background today, with so many young players, the majority of them are making their debuts for us, and I’m delighted to see them. Looking at their faces and the excitement they had before the game, it was clear that they were going to be involved. The senior players played well, and the encounter against Bournemouth was as competitive as we expected. They are a little ahead of us.

They have impressed us in a very positive way, that is the point. It’s not easy to reach the level and standards that we’ve set for ourselves right now, and they’re getting very near. They’re a pleasure to work with every day.

Regarding Karl Hein’s penalty heroics:

I’m overjoyed for him; obviously, he had to be really patient and wait for his opportunity. He returned from his vacation feeling sharp and prepared; he knew he had important games ahead of him, and he began tonight, and I believe he gave a great performance.

On if Hein should leave on loan:

That is a conversation we are now having. Obviously, David and Aaron are away at the time, and we are quite short in the position. We want to develop our players, especially Karl, who has a lot of talent and a bright future ahead of him. He needs to play games, so we’ll look at that as well.

No, there is no update. As soon as we have anything to say, we will be the first to tell it. You are aware that I dislike discussing outsider players, yet this is the current position.

Regarding Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah’s potential departures:

Many players have been connected to prospective trades; either way, it is common. We are at that point in the market. What I particularly enjoy about our players is their level of devotion, as evidenced by the manner they have performed.

Regarding not having as many senior players available early in this preseason:

It’s a different setting in which we must adapt and discover ways to improve while having less or more time, and this is what we’ve planned for. It’s also true that they’ve spent another year together, so their chemistry and relationships are already very strong. I believe it will click once they get together again.

On where he wants to see greater progress next season:

We want to improve in several [areas], including attacking and defending metrics, restarts, and set-pieces, as well as the number of minutes split among the team members. I believe that is an area where we can still develop.
