Cole Palmer has scored all of Chelsea’s penalties, and in a recent question-and-answer session, he revealed some details about his method from the spot.

Palmer scored his tenth penalty in a row for the Blues in last weekend’s triumph over Brighton, making him the only player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half.

With the four goals, he now has six goals in six games this season, second only to Erling Haaland at this point.

Palmer provides insight on his penalty method.
Palmer succeeds in many elements of the game, including penalties, and it appears like he does not feel any pressure at all.

Last season, the 22-year-old made a number of high-profile spot shots, including last-minute equalisers against Manchester City and Manchester United, and he also scored in England’s shootout victory over Switzerland at Euro 2024.

There is an art to penalty taking, and Palmer appears to have it down pat. In a recent Q&A with Shoot, he shared some insights into his method from the spot.

“Honestly, I don’t have one! I merely place the ball on the spot, step back, and shoot! “I changed my mind a few times as I ran up,” he admitted.

“I did miss one in the FA Youth Cup final between City and Liverpool. “I was devastated because we should have won.”

Palmer plays without fear and with great freedom, appearing to take everything in stride, and he has quickly established himself as one of the top players in the Premier League.Cole Palmer celebrates with the match ball against Brighton.

The England international will have the night off against Gent in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, but will return to play against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
