“I need to go”: Blues player opens door to a Chelsea exit this summer.

One current Chelsea player has hinted at a summer exit from Stamford Bridge and made some fascinating statements about a possible future move.

Chelsea is likely to sell at least a few players during the summer transfer window, with homegrown players being the most likely to be transferred – just for profit.

Conor Gallagher is already the subject of a pending bid from Tottenham and attention from Aston Villa, according to a source today, while another homegrown player has conceded that he may have to leave the club this summer.

Armando Broja recently had a terrible loan move to Fulham in the second half of the season, which squandered four months of his developmental and professional career. He barely played for them.

He will at least have the Euros as a sort of shop window to show what he can accomplish this summer ahead of a possible departure from Chelsea, which sounds like exactly what he could aim to achieve.

I believe he will leave, and the following words are probably pretty diplomatic. I believe he is aware that he will be released this summer and that Chelsea intends to sell him.

Broja informed The Athletic today:

“Nothing has been decided yet, but if I need to move somewhere else to get back in my rhythm, I would definitely do so. As a player, there is no better feeling than being on the pitch and knowing you have a club and a team that will defend you; a club that will let you make mistakes because they know you will grow into something.”

Interesting, it appears to be a subtle poke at Chelsea.
