Ange Postecoglou praises Newcastle transfer target as ‘excellent’ at Euro 2024 after talks
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou isn’t thinking about the next Premier League season yet because he’ll be a pundit at Euro 2024.
Spurs’ first five games will be difficult since they face freshly promoted Leicester City, Newcastle United, and Arsenal at home.
However, those tests will be dealt with later, as Euro 2024 is currently taking center stage in Germany.
Newcastle’s biggest interest in this league stems from England’s Kieran Trippier and the unused Anthony Gordon.
However, several of their transfer targets are proving their worth and making history on Europe’s greatest stage.
Georgia advanced to the knockout stages on Wednesday, defeating Portugal 2-0 to set up a last-16 match against Spain.
Ange Postecoglou was watching the game, and Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili impressed him between the sticks.
According to HITC, Newcastle have discussed bringing the 23-year-old to St James’ Park as Eddie Howe looks for a new shot-stopper.
Portugal had already advanced to the knockout rounds, but they continued to seek for goals, with 22 attempts on goal and five shots saved.

“When you have a capable goalkeeper. A good and in-form goalkeeper keeps you in those games, and you have quality on the other end, which can cause difficulties.”
Newcastle United is searching for a new goalie.
Even though Nick Pope has been fantastic for the Magpies, he has just returned from a long-term injury, and it appears the club is seeking for a younger keeper.
Amid talks for Mamardashvili and Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, they have also considered Burnley’s relegation star, James Trafford.

The Magpies missed out on European football completely after Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup final, knocking Newcastle out of the Conference League for the upcoming season.
Newcastle are expected to be busy this summer as they look for attacking options, with HITC reporting that they are interested in Morgan Gibbs-White and Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
