Breaking News: Cardinals’ Key Player to Miss Six Games Amid Shocking Suspension Revelation
The Arizona Cardinals have enjoyed a strong start to the 2024 season, currently holding a 6-4 record following a victory over the New York Jets. This performance places them atop the NFC West standings. However, their momentum faces a challenge as one of their defensive contributors has been handed an NFL suspension for a PED violation.
Linebacker Markus Bailey has been suspended for six games by the NFL for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Bailey began his NFL journey in 2020 as a seventh-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. After a modest rookie season, he significantly improved in 2021, recording a career-high 38 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and three passes defended. Over subsequent seasons, he maintained steady contributions, with highlights including 24 tackles in 2022 and 10 tackles in 2023. Except for his first year, Bailey consistently appeared in at least 16 games per season with the Bengals.
In 2024, Bailey signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals but didn’t make the final roster, landing on Arizona’s practice squad instead. Despite this setback, his potential earned him opportunities to contribute midseason.
The Cardinals, meanwhile, are on a roll, entering their Week 12 clash against the Seattle Seahawks on a four-game winning streak. To sustain their success, Arizona has also bolstered its offensive line, adding right tackle Jonah Williams to strengthen their roster.
