BREAKING NEWS; Why isn’t Reece James in the England squad for Euro 2024?
Reece James has been troubled by injuries this season, forcing him to miss out on the national team squad for Euro 2024.
Due to his ailments, James only played 30 minutes for Chelsea in 2024 and was left out of Gareth Southgate’s plans for the summer tournament.
He received a four-match suspension for a red card incident during a recent Premier League encounter against Brighton.
James was fouled by Joao Pedro and reacted angrily, kicking the Brazilian as he went past.
According to the Daily Mail, the team said James became disoriented after being fouled by Pedro.
Chelsea continued: “It had not been his intention to harm Mr Pedro, he was simply pushing him away with his foot.”
James, who missed their season-ending game against Bournemouth last month, has also been punished for the first three games of the new season.
His team attempted to cancel his suspension for the start of next season, but the FA rejected their argument.
The Manchester City player was chosen England’s new vice-captain prior to the athletic event.
He takes over for Jordan Henderson, who was not named in the Euro 2024 team.
Walker made his England debut in November 2011 and has since made 83 appearances for the national team.
He is the squad’s second-most capped player, with Harry Kane leading the Three Lions with 91.
In June 2022, the England manager stated of Walker, “You notice players maturing,”
“For example, Kyle Walker isn’t his club’s captain, but he’s such a man within the group, both on and off the field, and I believe he’s developed significantly over the last two or three years.
“I mean, he’s won the league four times, so he’s confident from his achievements as a player.
“He’s played in a World Cup semi-final and a European final for us, so he has a lot of big-game experience.
