Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers may go to the Scottish Premiership as he seeks striker reinforcements.

With Adam Idah back at Norwich City after a good loan spell at Parkhead last season, it is unclear whether he will return permanently.

Canaries boss Johannes Hoff Thorup wants to evaluate him in preseason before deciding on his future. Meanwhile, Hyeongyu Oh remains a target for Belgian club Genk after scoring 12 goals in 47 appearances for Celtic since joining in 2023.

If the South Korean international leaves this summer, Kyogo Furuhashi will be the only natural striker left on the Parkhead roster.

According to rumors, Celtic are a surprise contender for a forward who thrived in the Scottish Premiership last season.

Celtic named as bidders for Motherwell striker Theo Bair.
According to The Athletic, Celtic, along with Rangers and numerous German clubs, have expressed a ‘interest in adding’ Motherwell attacker Theo Bair to their roster this summer.

Last season, the Canada international scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 41 games, reviving his career at Fir Park under Stuart Kettlewell’s leadership.

Bair told the newspaper that he has to be ‘tested physically’ and that he believes he can achieve at the highest level.

He explained: “If a transfer occurs, I want to advance as far as possible and put myself to the test. I believe I should be tested physically. I need to go out and show myself right: I feel I can score at the greatest levels, and I don’t want this season to be an anomaly.”

It would be surprising if Celtic signed Bair; I don’t think anyone expected him to be on their transfer wishlist.

Nonetheless, he has definitely proven his worth at Motherwell, demonstrating pace, power, and a clinical edge in a spectacular year that has seen him move from being a much-questioned arrival in North Lanarkshire to becoming probably their most significant asset.

In any case, it’s an interesting link to keep an eye on. Celtic need a striker or two in the squad, and time is of the essence when it comes to potential new signings.
