Celts reject Atlanta’s offer for Matt O’Riley
Celtic have rejected Atalanta’s opening offer for Danish midfielder Matt O’Riley.
O’Riley has been a big success for Celtic for several seasons, playing in midfield and providing a steady supply of goals and assists.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, the midfielder has piqued Atalanta’s attention, with the club offering the Hoops €15 million. Celtic believe the offer does not meet their valuation and has been rejected.
O’Riley is considered as a replacement for Aleksey Miranchuk, who is on his way to the MLS, and his departure means La Dea is looking for someone who can play in midfield as well as further forward. Celtic want a greater amount to trade O’Riley, and it remains to be seen whether Atalanta will make another bid.
The Dane was quite good last season, playing 49 games and scoring 19 goals and 18 assists.
