Chelsea are currently in for a very uncomfortable tie following some late-night news that surfaced on Wednesday evening this week.

The Blues defeated League Two side Barrow in the third round of the League Cup on Tuesday night earlier this week, advancing to the fourth round, where the competition would be much tougher.

All of the big guns are staying in the competition, and we have yet to see any major surprises, so the next round will be difficult for all of the teams.

Chelsea may have to go to Newcastle for their next round encounter, after they were drawn against the winner of them or AFC Wimbledon.

Newcastle in the fourth round would make for an unpleasant tie for Chelsea.

Chelsea just went past Wimbledon last season.
Chelsea defeated Wimbledon in the second round of the League Cup early last season, although they needed a penalty to win 2-1 at home. So even that tie wouldn’t be very comfy for them.

But Chelsea would have like to avoid Newcastle, but as I have stated, it is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid the big teams as the competition progresses.

The worst part is that Chelsea has been drawn away, which means additional flying among a packed sequence of fixtures where they also have to trip to Greece for the

Conference League!
