Chelsea joins £25 million transfer competition as Enzo Maresca moves closer to triple summer swoop.
The latest Chelsea transfer news: the Blues are reportedly interested in Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, although they face competition from Juventus.
Chelsea has joined the hunt to recruit Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, according to Italian reports.
The 22-year-old struggled to make regular starts for Dortmund last season, and the club is reportedly eager to sell him during the summer transfer window. Bild said last month that he was worth €30 million (£25.4 million).
Juventus has been credited with the most interest in the winger, but it now appears that they may face competition from Chelsea. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Blues have ‘come forward’ for the players, creating a ‘threat’ to Juventus’ chances of completing the transfer.
Last season, Adeyemi appeared in 34 games for Dortmund, scoring five goals, the majority of which came from the bench. He has four full caps for Germany, but hasn’t played since 2022 and was left off the Euro 2024 roster.
Chelsea have already been busy in the summer transfer window, backing new head coach Enzo Maresca. Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have all completed transfers to Stamford Bridge, and Esteveo Willian will join next summer.
The Blues are now close to making another triple signing. Renato Veiga, a defender, is about to join Chelsea, and a deal for Aaron Anselmino is also nearing completion.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are close to signing full-back Caleb Wiley. However, the USA U23 international will join sister club Strasbourg.
The 19-year-old now plays for Major League Soccer club Atlanta, where he has made 21 appearances this season. No information has been provided concerning the transfer fee that Chelsea will pay for the teenager.
