I told Real Madrid to sign two players during the summer transfer window, but they both joined Chelsea.
Latest Chelsea transfer news and gossip, as Real Madrid were advised to sign two players that the Blues signed this summer.

Chelsea will now have two players on their roster who Real Madrid were strongly advised to sign in recent years.

The Blues made 13 new signings this summer, culminating in a busy transfer deadline day. Chelsea agreed a deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on an initial loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Sancho’s arrival has yet to be confirmed, as the deal was completed after the 11 p.m. deadline on Friday. The former Borussia Dortmund star was not Chelsea’s only new signing this summer, as the club also signed 12 other players.

Joao Felix, who joined Chelsea on a permanent basis from Atletico Madrid, is another new signing.

The forward returns to Stamford Bridge 18 months after a brief loan spell with the club in 2023, scoring on his second appearance in last week’s 6-2 victory over Wolves.

Sancho and Felix have both been tipped to be among Europe’s best young players since their youth team days at their respective former clubs. One of Real Madrid’s club legends appears to have previously advised them to do the dup.

“I saw him [Felix] in the Youth League and this kid was valuable, it was ridiculous how he played against the others,” Guti told El Chiringuito earlier this month. “He passed everyone. This kid needed to be signed. That is exactly what I told Real Madrid.

“I was coaching Real Madrid’s youth teams in the Youth League, and we were in the semifinals against Joao Felix. He tallied three goals. But I didn’t have to tell Real Madrid because the club was interested in this type of player.

“In the end, you provide information, and the club does whatever it wants with it. I saw players like him, like [Jadon] Sancho from Dortmund, in the Youth League and said, ‘This player is worth signing’.”
