The deal would reportedly involve the Canadiens parting with one of their first-round draft picks, possibly the one acquired from the Winnipeg Jets.

The report, stemming from draft insiders close to the situation, highlights Montreal’s continued pursuit of young, NHL-ready talent to accelerate their rebuild. Marco Rossi, just 23 years old, fits that mold perfectly. Drafted 9th overall in 2020, Rossi has found his rhythm in the NHL, tallying 28 points in 35 games so far this season and emerging as a reliable offensive contributor for the Wild.
