Sir Jim Ratcliffe might make a second raid on Manchester City if he signs Yan Couto for Manchester United, but a source claims a number of other big teams are also vying for the player.

Ratcliffe made the decision shortly after joining Manchester United that he had to succeed club CEO Richard Arnold in order to get the Red Devils back on track. Ratcliffe then worked his magic to bring Man Utd a coup by negotiating the acquisition of Omar Berrada, Man City’s chief football operations officer.

Currently on gardening leave, the Moroccan is expected to begin work at Manchester United in the middle of July.

Not only has Ratcliffe replaced Arnold with Berrada, but he has also removed John Murtough from the Man Utd hierarchy. Dan Ashworth is set to take over as sports director, if a deal can be reached with Ashworth’s present club, Newcastle United.    Meanwhile, Jason Wilcox departed Southampton to take over as technical director at Manchester United.

Ratcliffe may soon sign a rival player to follow up on his acquisition of City manager Berrada. Italian publication Tutto Juve claims that Man Utd is keeping an eye on City kid Couto.
