Marc Cucurella reveals what Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has already done for him while he is at Euro 2024.
The majority of Chelsea’s team has just completed its first week of preseason training under new management, but certain players are missing out while representing their nations in international events.
Enzo Maresca, 44, the new Blues head coach, has been working at Cobham with the majority of his players.

Enzo Fernandez is absent from the first team since he is preparing for Argentina’s Copa America final match.
Furthermore, a few Chelsea players will compete in the Euro 2024 final between England and Spain on Sunday. Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher are with the England team, while Marc Cucurella is with Spain.
Interestingly, Cucurella acknowledged in an interview with Mundo Deportivo that he would prefer to see Palmer on the England bench this weekend.
Marc Cucurella says he had a conversation with Enzo Maresca
Chelsea left back Cucurella, 25, has disclosed that his new club boss has already reached out to him through text message while he is overseas defending his country.
The Athletic questioned Cucurella if Chelsea’s future looks exciting under Marezca and if the new head coach has contacted him.
He said, “Yes, he texted me a few days ago.” The sentiments were positive, and everything seemed interesting, so I’m looking forward to it.
“Some people from Chelsea also contacted me during the Euros. I’ve noticed that our teammates are also really delighted.”
The Chelsea Chronicle is happy to hear that Maresca has not forgotten about those who have yet to join his camp.
It’s a basic but superb piece of man-management from him already.
Chelsea’s LB decision for next season
One of the most interesting team decisions for Maresca to make at Chelsea is who will play as the primary starting left-back.
Cucurella excelled last season as an inverted full-back. He’s also impressed on the international scene this summer with Spain.
However, Blues vice-captain Ben Chilwell, a left-back, will want to play.
In addition, Chelsea finalized the signing of versatile player Renato Veiga this week.
Following his transfer, Veiga told Chelsea’s official website that he is open to playing as a left-back, centre-back, or defensive midfielder.
