Latest Manchester United news as Mason Mount sends a message to Erik ten Hag and the team ahead of the start of preseason training.

Mason Mount appears to have conveyed a message to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag with his recent social media post.

Mount is presently enjoying his summer break ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. United will begin preseason training at Carrington later this month before heading to the United States.

Ten Hag will take command of pre-season training as United prepares for the new season, which begins on August 16 at home against Fulham.

The Dutchman hopes to have as many players ready for preseason as possible to prepare for the upcoming season.

Mount is among the players who are set to return to pre-season training this month. The United No.7 had a rough season last year, with injuries limiting him to only 20 appearances across all competitions.
Mount shared a series of Instagram photographs on Friday, revealing that his pre-season preparations are well begun. The image, which simply used a brick emoji for a captain, showed Mount participating in various workout programs either in the gym or on the practice field.

Mount will be looking to demonstrate to Ten Hag during pre-season that he can be an important member of the club in the coming season. Last summer, United agreed to pay Chelsea £55 million to capture the midfielder.

After months of speculation about Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford, United confirmed the Dutchman has signed a new deal. Ten Hag’s new contract runs until the summer of 2026, and he will now focus on securing the club’s success in his third season in command.
