The Miami Dolphins are grappling with significant challenges on their offensive line following the loss of starting right tackle Austin Jackson for the remainder of the 2024 season. This marks the second time in three years that Jackson’s season has been cut short due to injury; he missed 15 games in 2022 because of an ankle issue.
In December 2023, Jackson secured a three-year, $36 million contract extension, reflecting the team’s confidence in his abilities. His absence leaves a void on the offensive line, prompting the Dolphins to rely on veteran Kendall Lamm to fill the right tackle position. Lamm, 32, brings experience with 38 career starts and has been part of head coach Mike McDaniel’s system for three seasons. Rookie Patrick Paul, a second-round pick, is also being groomed as a potential future starter but is currently considered a developmental prospect.
