Chelsea
Michael Olise has chosen to join Bayern Munich after Chelsea pulled out of the competition to get him, according to reports.
The Blues are looking for a number of new attacking recruits this summer, and they initially targeted Olise, holding negotiations with both the Frenchman and Palace in the hopes of winning the race for his services.
However, as reported by The Athletic, a deal will not be completed since Chelsea has withdrawn from the bargaining table.
Chelsea is alleged to have made their “strongest offer” but believe the costs of signing Olise are prohibitively expensive and have decided not to pursue an agreement.
Instead, Olise has agreed to join Bayern Munich, who were granted permission to negotiate with the Frenchman and are set to reach an agreement with Crystal Palace in the coming days.
Chelsea want to reward their present players rather than pay large sums to new acquisitions, but they still intend to make some new additions to improve Enzo Maresca’s assault.
A fresh central striker is highly sought after. Both Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion are on the Blues’ radar, with the latter having a £34 million bid rejected earlier this week.
Chelsea is also thought to desire a new winger, but will have to choose a new priority target after deciding not to pursue their interest in Olise.
However, any signing would have to take into account the impending arrivals of South American starlets Estevao and Kendry Paez, who will both be at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2025 for large amounts.
Michael Olise chooses on his next club following meetings with Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
