This season at Old Trafford has been dreadful at times, with some of the worst performances in the Premier League in the team’s history. Although their 1-0 loss to Arsenal at home on Sunday was by no means their worst performance of the season, it does mean they have lost a club-record 14 of their 36 games in the tournament. In all honesty, it appeared as though they had accepted that simply losing by 1-0 was a successful day at work.

Maybe for that reason, Ten Hag is under a lot of pressure to continue in his position past the summer, and the fact that so many managers are being floated as potential successors raises suspicions about how desperately he is holding onto his position.
