Crystal Palace are increasingly prepared to lose Marc Guehi as contract negotiations stall, with Arsenal previously linked with the centre-back.

According to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace fears they are losing the battle with Marc Guehi and are becoming increasingly resigned to the fact that they may have no choice but to sell him in the upcoming transfer windows.

Guehi’s contract runs until 2026, so the next two Januarys and one summer in between will be the last chances to sell him if he refuses to extend.

Palace reportedly attempted to initiate talks for such an extension, but received little encouragement.LONDON, ENGLAND - APRIL 22: Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace passes the ball during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Everton FC at Selhurst Park on April 22, 2023 in London, England. Newcastle United are the main contenders for Guehi, having turned down offers over the summer. The Magpies bid up to £70 million for the defender, but their offers were repeatedly rejected.

Newcastle are reportedly still interested in Guehi ahead of the January transfer window, but Arsenal could also be involved.

Over the summer, Matt Hughes reported that Arsenal were on high alert following news that Guehi’s contract might not be extended.

Sami Mokbel himself stated that Guehi was one of Arsenal’s targets in the summer of 2023, but he has not provided an update on the Gunners’ interest this time around.

Perhaps things have changed with the addition of Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes’ strong form, but this is one to watch.
