Pep Guardiola issues a chilling statement as he sets to bring in a world class team sheet.
Pep Guardiola has made a terrifying statement as he prepares to hand in a world-class team sheet. Newcastle United will face an unbeaten Manchester City side, who will welcome back some of the game’s superstars on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola rested Erling Haaland for Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup victory over Watford.
The Manchester City manager rested several players, including Ederson, Ruben Dias, Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Joško Gvardiol, and Manu Akanji, as his team won 2-1 against the Hornets. Haaland has ten goals and is ready to face the Magpies on Saturday at midday.
After resting his players against Watford, his team sheet on Saturday will be a frightening statement, with or without injured sensation Rodri, who is gone for the remainder of the season.

Eddie Howe enters the game with a crowd clamouring for Sandro Tonali to start after only appearing briefly against Fulham in a 3-1 loss. Newcastle’s setback cost them top spot in the table, while City merely drew with Arsenal.
Tonali’s cameo outing did not impress Howe, but he may be forced to start him after Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes both failed to show up at Craven Cottage with their worst performances of the season. It is unclear whether Sean Longstaff will be able to make an early return.
In trying to figure out why Newcastle were so bad on Saturday against the Cottagers, Howe believed a lack of legs across the pitch cost his club dearly. Howe stated, “Our ability to run has been a defining attribute that has brought us success. And continue running throughout the game.
“It is not quite there right now. Across the team and on an individual level. We need to rediscover that very soon.”
Meanwhile, Australian referee Jared Gillett has been assigned as the man in the middle against City. This will be Gillett’s first appearance at St James’ Park this season, although he has previously presided over one Manchester City match in the Community Shield final at Wembley, which Guardiola’s team won 7-6 on penalties.
