Red alert regarding Victor Osimhen’s move to Chelsea verified in an official statement
news of a Chelsea deal as Victor Osiimhen’s Napoli departure request is made public ahead of the anticipated summer sale
Victor Osimhen submitted a transfer request to depart the Cubs this summer, and Napoli has verified this. It follows his exclusion from Antonio Conte’s matchday roster for Saturday’s Coppa Italia match against Modena.
“He asked to leave,” Sporting Director Giovanni Manna said in reference to Osimhen’s future before the game. “We are calm because we have players in the squad who can replace him in the best way,” the club president went on.
But we want to protect the group’s integrity and do not want to compromise it. We’ll wait and watch what transpires over the next days.
Chelsea has been interested in Osimhen for the whole summer, and Napoli has been anticipated to sell him. The 25-year-old is likewise admired by Paris Saint-Germain, but their efforts to sign him have failed.
Romelu Lukaku is expected to travel the other way in a deal that Chelsea hopes will sign the 2022–23 Serie A top scorer. It is scheduled to go down to the wire with three weeks remaining in the transfer window.
Osimhen’s exclusion from friendlies before to the start of the Italian domestic season has demonstrated Napoli’s position on the player in recent weeks. When Conte didn’t even start the striker in the match against Modena, he made the largest declaration of intent since taking over earlier this year.
Osimhen was not expected to play when Serie A begins the following week, despite having trained with his teammates before the match. Chelsea is inching closer to signing Pedro Neto from Wolves and Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid.
Together, the two will cost close to £90 million. Conor Gallagher has been spotted visiting the Wandametripolitano but has not yet received an official announcement that he would be joining Real Madrid.
