According to a top source, Enzo Maresca has already decided who will be Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper

According to one reliable source, new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has already decided on his number one goalkeeper for the coming season and years.

Surprisingly, it does not appear that Chelsea are now looking to recruit a new goalkeeper, which, for myself and many other Chelsea fans out there, would be a massive mistake.

Djordje Petrovic is a solid player, but I’m not persuaded he should play out of the back. Robert Sanchez can be good, but he shown last season that he is inconsistent and prone to mistakes with the ball at his feet.

If Chelsea genuinely want to go on this season and compete at the top level again, a new goalkeeper should be considered one of the most vital positions to sign.

However, thus far, it appears that Maresca is content to stick with what he is doing.

According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Robert Sánchez is set to start as Enzo Maresca’s first choice goalkeeper, playing a position similar to Ederson’s at City and Mads Hermansen’s at Leicester last season.

Personally, I don’t think this is something that is locked down for the season, and my hope is that Maresca and Chelsea will go into pre-season utilizing Sanchez and quickly realizing that he can’t be the ball-playing goalie that they want for Maresca’s style of football, and then they dip

Return to the market late in the window.

I mean, Sanchez lost his top status to Petrovic last season, and now he’s going to reclaim it? Get off it!
