According to Joao Cancelo, Chelsea has a defender who is superior to Josko Gvardiol.

While Josko Gvardiol appears to have emerged as the team’s first option at left-back—a position where Joao Cancelo may have played his greatest football during his time at City—Nathan Ake held that title last season.

The 22-year-old’s performances at left-back have significantly improved, especially in the last few games, Micah Richards said.

It’s fair to say that the former RB Leipzig defender has been the league’s top left-back along with Destiny Udogie and Emerson Palmieri.

Perhaps one of the few acquisitions made by City under Guardiola is Gvardiol, who has had a spectacular first season.  These days, Josko Gvardiol is superior to Thiago Silva.
We believe that Joao Cancelo may be evaluating Thiago Silva by looking at his entire career history rather than just the beginning.

The 39-year-old Brazilian is finally beginning to show his age in this challenging campaign.

In 36 Premier League games, the champion of the Champions League has contributed to a defense that has allowed up to 61 goals to be scored.

However, Gvardiol has contributed four goals to the City defense this season and has been a part of a defense that has only given up 33 goals in the division.

Given Thiago Silva’s professional accomplishments, many people could choose him over Josko Gvardiol, just as Joao Cancelo did.
