Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta feels Ajax striker Brian Brobbey can provide an alternative to the injury-prone Gabriel Jesus in attack, and the Gunners are planning a summer move for the Netherlands international, according to the Sun.

Last season, the 22-year-old dazzled in the Eredivisie, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 43 outings across all competitions.

As a result, Brobbey’s form has piqued the interest of his previous manager Erik ten Hag, as well as Manchester United, who are likely to compete with Arsenal for his signature for £30 million.

Some Italian clubs are also interested in the former RB Leipzig striker, but he is focused on a move to the Premier League, having recently admitted that Arsenal is one of the clubs he admires.

The Gunners aim to improve their attacking ranks this summer after failing to win the Premier League for the second time in a row, and Brobbey fits the description.

Despite his height of 5ft 11in, the attacker has outstanding jumping ability and is deadly in aerial situations.

He has received similarities to Didier Drogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Romelu Lukaku due to his size, pure muscle, physicality, and power, and signing him could help Arsenal improve next season.
