The star of Chelsea, Mykhailo Mudryk, has cautioned the supporters of the team about their “expectations” for him in the 2024–25 season.

Mudryk, 23, was acquired by the Blues from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for a fee of £88.5 million; however, since coming to Stamford Bridge, he has not performed well.

After a sluggish start to life in west London, Mudryk finished the previous season with just two assists and zero goals in 15 Premier League appearances.

Although this is Mudryk’s first full season at Chelsea, in 40 games across all competitions, he has only managed to muster seven goals and two assists.

The Ukrainian international’s contract with Chelsea runs until 2031, so supporters are eager to see him realize his full potential and are hoping for improvement from him the next season.

What can we anticipate from you for the upcoming season? asked @anishpokharel29, a Blues fan, in an Instagram post that was made on Monday.

Expectations are [what] kills our enjoyment, Mudryk retorted in a way that was a little worrying.

The Chelsea supporter replied, “Fairs Misha” (emoji of clapping). I have no doubt that you will excel here at Chelsea the next season, and I am excited to watch [the] fully-realised version of you.

When a second fan asked Mudryk to select his all-time favorite Chelsea player, the Ukrainian responded with Eden Hazard.

Between 2012 and 2019, Hazard scored 110 goals and provided 85 assists in 352 games for Chelsea.

Last time out, Chelsea defeated Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the Premier League thanks to a goal from Mudryk.

Only one of Mauricio Pochettino’s team’s past five Premier League losses indicates that they are going through a bit of a purple patch.

Even if Pochettino’s performance has improved, there is still a lot of conjecture over his future as Chelsea’s head coach because the club will examine his coaching staff following their season-ending match.
