Celtic are currently on the verge of making a tremendous signing, one who has been dubbed one of the best players in the world.

Despite winning another Scottish Premiership title under Brendan Rodgers in 2023/24, the Bhoys are still trying to improve, as any elite side would.

Celtic are close to signing a player who was knocked out of UEFA EURO 2024.

Celtic are close to signing Dominik Livakovic.
According to Fotomac in Turkey, Celtic’s bid for Dominik Livakovic has been accepted.

According to the Turkish news agency, Celtic offered €9 million (£8 million) for the Croatia international, and Fenerbahce agreed to accept the deal because the 29-year-old wants to leave Turkey.

It is clearly stated that the individual from Zadar want to depart because of an incident in April in which Trabzonspor fans invaded the pitch and fought Fenerbahce players.

Livakovic only joined the Turkish giants, who are currently managed by Jose Mourinho, in August 2023, but he has already said goodbye to his teammates before flying to Germany for UEFA EURO 2024, according to Fotomac.
According to the source, Fenerbahce has already agreed to sign Mattia Perin as a replacement for the Croatian, while Celtic will make an official announcement shortly.

Livakovic made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, keeping 21 clean sheets and surrendering only 46 goals.

Croatia International has been described as “one of the best” in the world.
Interestingly, Livakovic has been referred to as “one of the best” goalkeepers in the entire world.

Ivan Nevistic, his former Dinamo Zagreb colleague, made the comment, telling Sportske Novosti: “We have one of the best goalkeepers.” Not just in Croatia, but worldwide.”

Livakovic is undoubtedly deserved of such high acclaim, having played a significant role in Croatia’s third-place finish at the 2022 World Cup, and he was also in good form on Monday night in the 1-1 draw against Italy at UEFA EURO 2024, making one outstanding save from Alessandro Bastoni’s strong header.

Following Joe Hart’s decision to hang up his gloves, we believe Celtic have found a suitable alternative who can hold down the No.1 shirt for the foreseeable future at the age of 29.
