Everton is ready to offer asking amount to sign ‘exceptional’ player as West Ham show interest.

Everton are now considering signing a new midfielder this summer from one of Europe’s major teams.

However, Everton could receive a significant boost as Farhad Moshiri negotiates a potential new ownership deal.

Talks with 777 Partners appear to have ended after they missed the deadline to purchase the club at the end of last month.

New ownership at Goodison Park might see Everton backed by a far wealthier consortium as the club prepares to move into their new home.

However, the Toffees are thought to be interested in signing a midfielder for a fee of only €10 million (£8.5 million) this summer.

With the PSR deadline approaching, there is much discussion about what needs to be done this month in respect of player exits at Goodison Park.

However, Everton will need to make acquisitions as well, given the Toffees’ troubles during the 2023-24 season.

In the end, Everton avoided relegation with a comfortable lead over Luton Town, but there were times during the year when it appeared to be a real battle.

Stronger teams, such as Leicester City and Southampton, may emerge in the coming months, necessitating additional work to enhance Sean Dyche’s roster.
