The start of the Euros is the deadline that Sporting Director Deco has set for making a significant transaction to support the club’s finances. He believes that the money is essential to enable them to pursue a left winger and a pivot in midfield, with Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich being mentioned as their top choices, according to Sport.

Ronald Araujo, de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, and Raphinha are the four players whose sales would greatly benefit the Blaugrana financially. Manchester United and Bayern Munich have shown interest in speaking with the Uruguayan, who is the only one who has left the door open to a move. In January, conversations between the two parties took place.

With a month to go until the deadline, they have not received any proposals, so they cannot be sure they will obtain the €80–100 million they are hoping for in exchange for Araujo.

It appears that Barcelona may have a problem. The next manager’s identity is still unknown, and Bayern’s top objectives will be contract negotiations with Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich, and Alphonso Davies. The team has not yet shown interest in returning.  In the meantime, Manchester United will also be facing uncertainty about Erik ten Hag after the season ends. They don’t appear to have a plan in place, and it seems improbable that they will invest €80 million in the next few weeks.

Barcelona will have just two weeks left before the club’s financial year ends, which will determine their budgets and have an effect on their salary cap, if they are unable to reach a significant agreement by the Euros. Any chance they have of getting stronger this summer could be fatally compromised by the loss of that sale.
