On Monday night, Marcu Cucurella reconnected with his Chelsea teammate Armando Broja.

Chelsea teammates Armando Broja and Marc Cucurella swapped shirts following Spain’s 1-0 victory over Albania on Monday night.

Cucurella was given the night off at the Dusseldorf Arena when the 2010 World Cup winners won Group B of this summer’s European Championships with Ferran Torres’ first-half goal. Albania finished last in Group B and qualified for this summer’s finals with only one point from three games after losing to Broja.

Cucurella and Broja, who were seen swapping shirts after the Group B match, did, however, reunite with Chelsea. The heartfelt embrace between the Stamford Bridge duo was captured on camera and then shared on Cucurella’s Instagram with the message “Good to see you, Armando Broja”.

Monday night’s reunion between the Chelsea two was long delayed, as Broja spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Fulham. The Albanian attacker made eight Premier League games at Craven Cottage but did not score.

Broja is poised to leave Stamford Bridge permanently this summer, and The Athletic claimed last week that Everton and Wolves were interested in the forward, who Chelsea is reputed to value at £35 million. It is also believed that Chelsea wants to complete the most of their transfer deals by the end of the month, which might imply Broja has just a few days remaining as a Chelsea player.
