The club’s owners chose to bring in Maresca, and the Italian has been tasked with leading Chelsea back to the top.

Maresca’s appointment, however, may be bad news for one Chelsea player.

Conor Gallagher has received more media attention than any other Chelsea player recently.

The Englishman was one of Pochettino’s top performers throughout the 2023/24 season. He started practically every game and looked far superior to his two high-priced midfield partners.

Gallagher, on the other hand, remains one of the players Chelsea wants to transfer this summer, and Aston Villa has begun talks with the Blues about signing him.

Tottenham are also reportedly considering a bid to recruit the England international, who will enter the final year of his Chelsea contract in July.

Now, The Guardian has uncovered one of Chelsea’s concerns regarding Gallagher.

According to reports, some club officials believe he’may not be suited to the possession football’ that Maresca prefers.

That could be another reason why the Blues want to trade Gallagher when the summer transfer market opens.

Gallagher is alleged to be disappointed since Chelsea is virtually pressuring him to quit the club before the new season begins.
