Bayern Munich’s season comes to a conclusion on Saturday away at Hoffenheim. Many Bayern players will have busy summers ahead of them because Germany will host the European Championship in June. Leroy Sane and Aleksandar Pavlovic have been named to the German team, but one Bayern player is disappointed before the full roster is revealed later this week.

Leon Goretzka will not be a member of Julian Nagelsmann’s team for the European Championship, according to Sky Sports in Germany. Despite the German midfielder’s recent excellent play, Nagelsmann has continued to use the players that were called up for the March international friendly against France and the Netherlands.

Goretzka is devastated because he was keen to return to the German team after putting up strong performances for Bayern in March and April. Throughout the two Champions League matches against Arsenal, he was among the top performers on the field. The German international performed admirably in the Champions League home leg vs Real Madrid.

The only benefit that Bayern may get from Nagelsmann’s decision to leave Goretzka off the team is that he will be able to relax in the summer before the preseason. The summer roster makeover that Die Roten are planning will give the German midfielder ample time to consider his future in Bavaria.
